RainHarvest System
Our goal is to capture all of the rain which falls within your property.
THIS IS HOW WE BUILD THE RAIN HARVEST SYSTEM:
1. We determine the demands of the system. What will it be used to supply? Landscaping? Outdoor water spigots? Toilets?
2. We examine the site to discover all harvesting opportunities. These could be the roofs, driveways, and walks or low spots in the lawn and garden. Using this information, we can calculate the amount of water available from each rain event.
3. The harvesting system is then designed to capture the most water and deliver it to the points of use.
THERE ARE FOUR COMPONENTS TO THE SYSTEM:
Rain is harvested from all surfaces on the site. The
easiest and most efficient harvesting surfaces are the roofs
and paved surfaces. The system is also capable of collecting
excess water from garden areas and lawns.
Water is transported to a storage unit via popes with filters
The water is then stored in a cistern. The cistern can be located above the ground or, more commonly, below.
A pump system is then utilized to deliver the water to the point of usage. This could be an irrigation system, outdoor hose bibs, a water fountain, etc... (someday soon, we hope that the state will permit the use of rainwater toilets! What a waste to flush expensive, clean water down the toilet!)
